The Waihi 29 Hole Mixed Foursomes

A busy Sunday at the Club 🌤️

After weeks of relentless rain, the sun finally came out—and so did the smiles! Yesterday’s late autumn blue skies were a welcome sight, and the whole field made the most of it. Chilly in the morning becoming warmer as the day drew on, completely perfect for playing golf.

From 9am we hosted the Waihi 29 Hole Mixed Foursomes event. With men and women playing as pairs playing alternate shots. Playing our usual 18 holes then our unique 11 holes making 29. Quite a different format which was well received by the field.

• Best Net: Women’s Club Captain Desley and member local member Richard.
• Top Stableford: Visitors from Cambridge, partners Elaine and Andy.

Well done everyone – quite a few challenging pins out there by all accounts…

That same afternoon we welcomed back our She Loves Golf ladies for a Sunday afternoon series which will now run through to the 8^th of June. It was wonderful to meet some brand-new golfers picking up a club for the first time. After some coaching and a few tips (the kind we all wish we’d had at the start!), they headed out to play a few holes in groups. Lots of laughter, some great swings, and a beautiful way to spend a Sunday.
